I paint in oils to capture passing moments; a certain look, an illuminated field, the stillness of a room or the sense of being in a particular place at a particular time. Increasingly drawn to abstract representation of my environment, I’m inspired most by the nature around me in the South Downs - the layering of colour, texture and the stories that form our experience of the land.
I also paint still life and portraiture - please contact me for commission details.
After studying Geography at Manchester University, I worked in marketing and publishing before becoming a freelance writer and author. I discovered my love of painting almost by chance, and now find it all-consuming. I study at the Art Academy in London and the New School of Art in Lewes and Brighton.
